Photographer Gabriel Wickbold stripped models down naked then slapped layer upon layer of thick colorful paint… the results are nothing short of amazing. The brilliance of the color against the dark images is beyond phresh…
as always you can click on photo to enlarge and see the whole piece.

Always working on something new… i thought I would preview with some of the research I have been doing. I first saw “Dazzle Camo” a few years back on an old pic of the underside of a P-51 Mustang fighter plane… I thought it was purely concept but it was actually used in both World Wars… Mostly on boats…The purpose of dazzle camouflage is not to conceal, but to disorient. The patterns make it difficult for onlookers to determine which direction the ship is heading.
The Rhode Island School of Design has a great online resource full of Naval illustrations… Check it out!

…since I had a nice pictorial post. Had an amazing week with friends. Crazy weather here on the east coast we got a few inches of snow that turned into several inches of ice which in turn closed the city down… that just contained us all to our neighborhood which resulted in good times all around. Icy Roads, Sled Rides, Bday Parties, and much much more. Really glad to have such a good core group of friends.
Started a new little series of paintings based on an amalgam of girls that have affected my life in both positive and negative ways…”A Manic Pixie Dream Girl, that sentient ray of sunshine sent from heaven to warm the heart and readjust the attitude of even the broodiest, most uptight male protagonist”
Have a few more to finish… but should be all up online for sale soon.
